JAMMU, July 3: Sarwal police under Operation Chetak arrested a vehicle lifter.
As per police sources, a case under FIR Number 93/17 under Section 379 RPC regarding the theft of motorcycle bearing registration number JK02BN-6156 was registered at police station Bakshi Nagar.
During the course of investigation, many suspects were rounded up and one of the suspects namely Rakesh Kumar, son of Khazan Chand of Jad tehsil Akhnoor confessed that he had stolen the vehicle.
On his disclosure, the stolen motorcycle was recovered.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by Incharge Sarwal police post SI Rahul Mahajan made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Bakshi Nagar Inspector Ashwani Sharma, SDPO West Pranav Mahajan and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
