KISHTWAR, June 2: Under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, Police here today attached a vehicle worth approximately Rs. 26 lakh under the provisions of Section 68F (1) of NDPS Act and also registered a case regarding illegal cultivation of poppy plants in Drabshalla area.
SSP Kishtwar, Naresh Singh while sharing details in this regard said during investigation of FIR No. 90/2026 registered under Sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act at Police Station Kishtwar, it surfaced that a Minibus bearing Registration No. JK06C-5714, owned by Mudasir Hussain, son of Mehraj-ud-Din, resident of Om Mehta Road, Tehsil and District Kishtwar, was allegedly acquired from the proceeds of illicit narcotic drug trafficking.
Accordingly, after following due legal procedure prescribed under NDPS Act, the vehicle was attached under Section 68F (1) of NDPS Act, 1985.
Moreover, Police Post Drabshalla destroyed illegal poppy cultivation belonging to Sameer Ahmed, son of Late Ajaz Ahmed, resident of Khori Saroor, Drabshalla. In this regard, FIR No. 131/2026 under Section 8/18 NDPS Act has been registered and investigation started.
