*Probe ordered, cop suspended

RAJOURI, Nov 12: A vegetable vendor in Kalakote town of district Rajouri committed suicide by consuming poisonous substance while family members and relatives of the deceased blocked Rajouri-Reasi road demanding justice for the family.
Reports said Sunil Kumar , a vegetable vendor in Kalakote town and a resident of Sair Kalakote, consumed some poisonous substance. The family members and the relatives of the deceased blocked Reasi-Rajouri road near Thermal Gate on Friday and lodged strong protest for more than 6 hours demanding justice for the victim’s family. They family alleged that he (Sunil Kumar) was being harassed by Kalakote Police.
“A complaint against, Sunil Kumar was lodged at Police Station Kalakote, by a widow, namely- Safia Begum, resident of DC Colony, Rajouri, that she had wrongly transferred an amount of Rs 44,000 in the bank account of (deceased), Sunil Kumar, she had approached him but he was not willing to return the money”, a police official said.
He said based on complaint lodged by the woman, the Police summoned Sunil Kumar. “It was a routine matter. He was summoned and asked to return the money transferred in his bank account accidentally, to the woman”, said Police official, adding that Kalakote Police have also registered a case under section 174 to investigate the matter (suicide committed by the vegetable vendor).
Meanwhile, SDPO Noushera Tousif Ahmed said that a Constable posted in Police Station Kalakot, Musavar Husain has been placed under suspension and investigation initiated to bring the truth out.
