SRINAGAR, June 8: Minister for Revenue, Relief, Rehabili-tation and Reconstruction Abdul Rehman Veeri today asked the officials to frame a timeline for completion of centrally sponsored Digitalization of Land Records Modernization Programme (DLRMP) here.
Veeri asked the concerned officials to start the process of digitization from one tehsil and later replicate the process in all districts of the State for the realization of dream of Land Record Digitalization of the State.
Minister was speaking at a review meeting of implementation of DLRMP here today. The meeting was attended by Financial Commissioner (Reve-nue) Lokesh Jha, Commissioner Secretary Revenue Muhammad Ashraf Mir, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmed Khan, Director Land Records Kashmir Vikas Kundal and Revenue officers of different districts. The meeting was also attended by the officials of Ramtech.
The Minister asked the officials to complete the scanning, identification of records and subsequently correction of records within stipulated time through different methods of land record digitization. He also asked the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir to pass on the directions to the concerned Deputy Commissioners to nominate staff for coordination with the Ramtech Software Limited for speedy completion of land records.
Veeri said that clarity in land ownership will also reveal the quantum of land possessed by a person, eventually enabling the latter to purchase land, give deeds, enter mutations and do all kinds of land transactions at the press of a button. He also said that Government and revenue officials will also have exact details of the land available in the State on completion of the digitization process.
To rule out any errors, the Minister impressed upon the officers to compare online data with manual data and directed them to seek help from experienced hands who have gathered substantial expertise in revenue matters over the years.
The officials of the Ramtech Company showed the sample digitalization of land records of Kreeri village through power point presentation and informed the meeting that 6 villages were taken in the State for producing a model of complete land digitalization process.
The Minister directed the officers to start two refreshers courses for Revenue officials at Revenue Training Institutes (RTI) and IMPA according to the rank of officials in Revenue and Land Record Modernization.
Veeri also impressed on the officials to strengthen the manpower exclusively dedicated for the implementation of the project.
