Veeri for optimal use of custodian assets for revenue generation

JAMMU, Apr 27:  Minister for Revenue, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Abdul Rehman Veeri today stressed on optimal use of custodian assets for revenue generation.
He was speaking at a high level meeting convened here today to review the functioning of the Custodian Department.
Commissioner Secretary Revenue Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Custodian Kashmir Bashir Ahmed Mir, Custodian Jammu Mushtaq Hussain Malik, Custodian Central J&K Jeelani Rafiquee were present in the meeting.
Veeri stressed on maintaining inventory of all the assets of the department and their classification for optimal use. He said this would help   the department to earn maximum income.
He stressed on safeguarding the assets and property and making their best use.
The Minister also took a review of community halls constructed by the department at various places. He asked the department to give wide publicity of these facilities to enable maximum number of people to get benefit.
“The facility can be used by the people for marriage and other occasions and at the same time earn revenue for the department,” he said.
Officers in the meeting informed the Minister that these marriage halls have been provided with all the basic amenities required for conducting all type of social functions.
Veeri asked the officers to furnish full details    about the custodian property in the State including present status in terms of rented property.  He also asked for details about date of agreement, rent payment status and agreement status.
The meeting also discussed the prospects of different assets available with the department across State and their commercial potential.
Veeri asked the officers to formulate the DPRs of newly conceived projects at an earliest so that process of asset generation is speeded up.
