Veeri asks admn to be proactive in resolving people’s grievances

SRINAGAR, May 22: Minister for Revenue, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Abdul Rehman Veeri, today reviewed developmental works of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Interacting with officials during a high level meeting here, the Minister sought constituency wise and scheme wise report of works being executed across the district. He also directed pacing-up the works within stipulated time besides setting deadlines for various developmental works. The Minister asked district administration to be vibrant and proactive in resolving the people’s problem. He also asked the officers to conceive development projects for people’s welfare and avoid cost and time overrun.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Forest, Environment and Ecology, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Cooperatives, Mir Zahoor Ahmad, MLA Pulwama Muhammad Khalil Band, MLA Tral Mushtaq Ahmed Shah, Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama, Muneer-Ul-Islam, district and zonal officers.
Veeri asked the officials of PDD to install a 63 Kv transformer for uninterrupted power supply in order to make the nursing college fully functional. The Minister also asked the CMO Pulwama to ensure proper sanitation plan for the Pulwama hospital, besides providing ambulances in every PHC of the district.
In wake of the coming irrigation season, the Minister asked the officials to carry out mass dredging and de-silting of irrigation canals of the district.  He also asked the Irrigation Department to speed up the process of Tral irrigation scheme and Rajpora irrigation scheme. He also asked the SDM Tral to submit the DPR for the construction of the mini-secretariat in the town to the administrative department.
Minister of State for Forest, Environment and Ecology, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Cooperatives, Mir Zahoor Ahmad sought the report on different centrally sponsored water supply schemes conceived in the area and asked the officials to speed up these projects. The officials informed that the Minister that five schemes including Pampore town, Tral Town, Batnoor, Charsoo and Hari-Parigam would be completed by year end.
