RAMBAN, Aug 11: A Village Defence Committee (VDC) member was killed in accidental fire by his uncle in Nangi Bhak (Tokra Adwar) area, falling under the jurisdiction of Ramsoo police station.
As per police sources, VDC member namely Vir Chand, son of Goga Chand and his uncle Tirth Chand, son of Tara Chand, both residents of Chunthan Paristan, were shifting their household items to dhok, when a bear attacked Vir Chand near Nangi Bhak (Tokra adwar) area.
To save Vir Chand, his uncle fired upon bear, but accidentally the bullet hit VDC member, leading to his on the spot death.
After getting information, police team from Ramsoo police station rushed to the spot and shifted the body of the deceased to hospital.
After completing legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to family members for last rites.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Ramsoo police station and investigation started.
