JAMMU, Mar 14: Viklang Chhatra Trust (VCT), has urged upon the Union Government to provide reservation (quota) to the handicapped persons (Viklangs) in the Indian Parliament.
In an appeal to the President of India and the Modi Govt at the Centre, the Trust demanded that there must be provision in the Indian Parliament to provide representation to a population of over 4.5 crore of Viklangs in the country in the Union Parliament. But it is sad that this class was always used as vote bank by various political parties. They were deprived of their representation in both houses of the Parliament.
The VCT and Old Care Society urged upon the President of India to introduce a useful provision in the relevant rules, that there must be suitable nomination of representatives of Divyangs in each House of Parliament and State Legislative Assembly/ Council so that they are able to raise the issues related to day today problems.
