Jammu, June 25 : Vice Chairman (VC), Kissan Advisory Board (KAB), Daljeet Singh Chib met Union Agricuture Minister Radha Mohan Singh and apprised him about the devastation in agriculture sector due to flash floods and rains in the state.
Chib requested the Union Minister for continuing the central share on 90:10 basis, saying, “State cannot afford to address all the issues of the farming community with limited resources. There are financial problems as far as providing incentives to the farming community is concerned”.
Union Minister listened to the genuine demands highlighted by Chib and promised to cooperate on all levels wherever possible to sort the burning issues of the farming community.
Radha Mohan promised to visit the State personally to access losses on his own. He also suggested Chib to adopt the organic farming and assured that a central share of Rs. 2.9 crores has been earmarked to carry out this programme in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting was also attended by GN Mir, Secretary of the Board.
