VC holds meeting to review post lockdown preparedness of BGSBU

RAJOURI, Apr 7: Prof Javed Mussarat , Vice Chancellor of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, today held a video conference with the senior functionaries of the University to review the preparedness of the University to fight Covid-19 once the lockdown is lifted.
The meeting was held in the backdrop of recent video- conference of the Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir with the VCs of various Universities of J&K UT to review the post lockdown preparedness of these institutions.
The Vice Chancellor said that the University has already implemented the various advisories issued by MHRD, UGC and Health departments to ensure the health and safety of the various stake holders of the University. He said that fumigation and sanitization of the hostels, residential areas, academic blocks and other public places within the campus has been done.
Prof Musaarat ordered the release of Rs 5 lakh grant in favour of the health centre of the University for procuring face masks, sanitizers and other such items for making them available for the students and staff of the University. The VC also issued directions for procurement of immunity boosting medicines from AYUSH.
He expressed satisfaction that the faculty is actively involved in providing online study material / lectures to the students through various E – Learning Platforms to ensure that the students do not suffer academic loss due to the lockdown. He urged upon the faculty members to explore many such possibilities to engage with the students through online modes for their benefits. He said that it is earnestly desired that all concerned should take maximum advantage of available time in learning the IT based pedagogical tools, and also mastering and implementing them in teaching -learning process.
In the meeting it was decided that the preparation for the conduct of UG and PG examinations shall continue and the dates for conduct of exams shall be decided after the University reopens. It was also decided that the University will keep the admission process open for various PG and UG programs and any decision related to the last date of admission forms will be taken once the lockdown is lifted.
