JAMMU, June 21: Vice Chancellor, Jammu University, Prof Mohan Pal Singh Ishar, directed Controller of Examination to restore the parity in the number of answer scripts, to be evaluated in a day by evaluators from Jammu city or outside.
This decision was taken by Vice Chancellor, Prof MPS Ishar, in a meeting with J&K College Teachers Association (Jammu wing).
J&K College Teachers Association (Jammu wing), led by its president, Dr Avinash Kumar Gupta, met Vice Chancellor, Jammu University, Prof Mohan Pal Singh Ishar, and discussed various demands including evaluation process and reservation in admission in PG classes for the wards of college teachers.
While speaking, Dr Avinash Kumar Gupta, apprised Vice Chancellor, that, two years back, the answer books evaluated by the evaluator from Jammu city or from outside Jammu city was 25 per day and was increased to 30 per day.
He said that evaluators from newly established campuses, retired teachers and college teachers posted outside the Jammu city are forced to evaluate 40 answer books per day, which will affect the quality of education and put mental pressure on them.
He said that the teachers from the Jammu city are evaluating 30 answer books per day, which is great injustice with the evaluators from newly established campuses, retired teachers and college teachers.
Dr Satesh Bhan, general secretary, CTA, while speaking, projected another demand of reservation of seats to their wards in the PG courses, at par with the university teachers. He said that the reservation for the wards of the college teachers was barred for the past two years.
He pointed out that there seems to be no justification in discontinuing reservation for the wards of College teachers and continuing the same in case of wards of University teachers.
Vice Chancellor, Jammu University, Prof Mohan Pal Singh Ishar, gave a patient hearing to their demands and directed Controller of Examination to restore the parity in the number of answer scripts, to be evaluated in a day by evaluators to 30 scripts, irrespective of whether the evaluators are from the Jammu city or outside.
Among others present were Prof Naresh Padha, Registrar, Prof Manoj Kumar Dhar, Controller Examinations and Jai Kumar Sharma, OSD to VC.
