SRINAGAR, Oct 3: Prof. Devanand, Acting Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Jammu, called on Governor, N.N. Vohra, Chancellor of the University, here at the Raj Bhavan today.
Prof. Devanand briefed the Governor about the to-date status of the new campus of the Central University which is under construction at village Bagla, Raya Suchani in Samba district; recruitment of faculty; final position of the admissions to the current Academic Session; and certain issues related to the Administrative and academic functioning.
The Governor urged the Vice- Chancellor to ensure that there was no compromise in maintaining high academic standards and planned pursuit of research facilities in the Varsity. He also urged Prof. Devanand to ensure very early completion of at least some part of the upcoming campus so that there could be at least a partial shifting of the facilities presently functioning in hired premises
