JAMMU, Mar 11: Varuna Anand, the founder of “The Splendor of Kashmir,” has been awarded the prestigious IWD Award 2024 for her outstanding contribution to the promotion of crafts in Jammu & Kashmir.
Hosted by the Public Diplomacy Forum, led by Ratan Kaul and Nikita Khattar Arya, in collaboration with the Aruna Abhay Oswal Foundation, this 17th edition of the awards aimed to uplift and empower women through the achievements of remarkable individuals like Varuna.
The ceremony, held at New Delhi’s Le Meridian Hotel, was graced by several guests, including former UN Assistant Secretary-General Laxmi Puri and other dignitaries like Aruna Abhey Oswal and K J Alphons.
Varuna’s vision for “The Splendor of Kashmir” shines through her meticulously crafted shawls, each a testament to Kashmir’s rich heritage and tradition.
