LEH, Feb 2: Many delegations met Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, R.K Mathur here today.
A delegation from Disket Cultural and Welfare Society led by Deputy Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Tsering Angchuk, called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, R.K Mathur.
Angchuk demanded assistance in renovation and maintenance of traditional zig-zag footpath to promote it as tourist attraction and funds for laying tiles on Chhamsra (enclosure where sacred mask dances are performed). He also demanded intervention of LG in registration/renewal of registration of commercial tourism units.
Councillor, Nyoma, Ishey Spalzang met LG Mathur and raised several issues related to his constituency. These issues were demand of separate district for Changthang, connecting border areas of Changthang with Northern Powergrid transmission line, upgradation of Primary Health Center Nyoma to Sub-District Hospital, upgradation of Medical Aid Centre Hanle, Koyul and Tsaga to PHC, engagement of locals as casual paid labourers in GREF for full year, reservation for nomads in different sectors, exposure visits for shepherds from Changthang area, making the airstrip at Muth functional, opening of a Government Degree College at Nyoma, filling up of vacancies in all departments in Nyoma Sub-Division, delimitation of Tsaga/Rongo, Nyoma/Muth, Dungti, Hanle Khaldo/Hanle Punguk, Koyul/Demchok Panchayat Halqas and making the process of registration of home-stays and guest houses simpler and easier.
A delegation from Yarnya Gendun Tsogspa, Igoo led by Ven Lobzang Namgyal also met the LG and requested a job for athlete Jigmet Dolma in Ladakh Police under sports quota.
Executive Director, NHIDCL Regional Office Leh, Padam Kumar also called on LG Mathur and apprised him of the progress of various ongoing infrastructure development projects in Ladakh.
