Vande Bharat Express completes 1 lakh km

NEW DELHI: Semi high speed train developed by indigenous technology of Indian Railways, Vande Bharat Express has exceeded one lakh kms journey in 90 days and in this way it has proven its technical superiority in this field.

A senior official of the Railway Board said that Vande Bharat Express crossed the figure of one lakh kms on May 15. In the 64th round on Wednesday, May 15 this train completed one lakh km of journey.

According to the official, this is a symbol of the technical superiority of Indian Railways and the proud achievement of the country.

The train is being run between New Delhi and Varanasi. This train runs for five days except on Mondays and Thursdays.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the train this year on February 15, and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal had traveled from New Delhi to Varanasi. The commercial operation of the train started on February 17.

The official said that during the total travel of 65 rounds on Friday, this train ran on schedule and often reached its destination before time. (AGENCIES)
