Value of democracy

Sir,
This is in reference to the article “Value of democracy” DE Jun 29.
The  article pertains to  the recently concluded elections for Karnataka Assembly where every political party whether it is so called “single largest party” or “Sahyogi party” tried every possible method  to grab  power.
It may be mentioned here that  the so called largest party was the first party to be called to form the Government by the Governor of that State despite lacking the magical figure, but couldn’t form the Government. And, for that episode  blaming the whole democracy and our constitution  is not quite right.  Our constitution is the world’s most beautifully crafted legal document that provides an individual complete freedom and rights and can be changed time to time depending upon the need of the hour i.e why it is known as “The living document”. But due to lack of ethics and moral values in some of modern-day politicians they are misusing it.It is similar to the situation where a person having knowledge can use it in either way, by helping people or for harassing them.It is not the fault of knowledge but the choice made by that person.
