Valley posted KP employees meet Div Comm, submit memorandum

SRINAGAR, Sept 20: To sort out the pressing problems of the PM package employees working in Kashmir valley a meeting was held between the All Migrant Employees Association Kashmir (AMEAK) with Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, P K Pole, here, today.
The meeting was initiated and arranged by Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, K K Sidha to find out an amicable solution to the problems of PM package employees who are on protest since May 12 this year after the killing of their colleague by militants in Valley and subsequent killing of other Hindu employees by militants since then.
It was a confidence building measure and the process of interaction to reach out to aggrieved employees who are on protest from last four months.
The employees put up the single demand of addressing their security measures of secured living which Government must address before moving further. They raised the demand of attaching them with the Relief Department till situation improves in the Valley.
The delegation also stressed the urgent need and requested the administration to initiate the confidence building measures and open the doors of interaction with protesting employees at Jammu also, as any decision with regard to the package employees should be taken after taking into account all the employees at both locations.
The delegation also requested the administration to look into the matter of the joining of the Sub Inspectors in the Sales and Taxation Department. Majority of these employees are newly recruited and have no Government accommodation. These employee should not be compelled to join in Valley as this would lead to escalation of their security threats with nowhere to go.
The delegation also requested the administration that the salary of the assistant compilers has not been released which should be looked into. DDOs in some departments should not compel employees to join till situation improves, the AMEAK demanded.
The delegation also submitted a memorandum and an application concerning burning issues being faced by the employees.
