SRINAGAR, Dec 3: Senior vice-president People’s Conference (PC) and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil today urged the Central Government to change their confused, biased and policy of venom towards PAGD in Jammu and Kashmir as they are not being taunted only but also being harassed for participating in ongoing District Development Council (DDC) and Panchayat-by-elections.
“Instead People’s Alliance for Gupkar declaration (PAGD) should have ben encouraged but it is strange they are being discouraged, taunted and even not being provided proper security for campaigning,” Vakil added.
In a statement, Vakil said the Central Government’s policy is not clear and straight as when the PAGD are participating in ongoing election process, Centeral Govt is taking it otherwise. If the same parties do not participating then they are being dubbed as Pakistanis and anti=nationals. It seems there are some vested interests behind these things, Vakil said.
What is this is it a political bankruptcy or Central Government is not interested to create peaceful atmosphere to win the hearts of the people , Vakil questioned.
The senior leader termed it very unfortunate that the Central Government is using all tactics and pressures to mum the regional parties in the region.
“By these things Central Government will get nothing rather than creating further mistrust among the people and will help in distancing them from, mainstream, ” Vakl said.
Vakil alleged that all parties except Gupkar People’s alliance are not being provided proper security for campaigning during the elections. Days of boycotting elections have gone and people will participate and and decide their own fate in the ongoing DDC elections and in future elections also.
Vakil further said that PAGD candidates will sweep the polls and as people are openly supporting its agenda of development and determination to leave no stone unturned in restoring Article 370 and 35-A in J&K.
