HIRANAGAR, Dec 25: Ridiculing the opt repeated statements of Opposition and Kashmir centric parties that Vajpayee formula be applied on Kashmir, Union Minister in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh today said that former Prime Minister never compromised on Kashmir’s integration with India.
Addressing a public meeting at village Sajjana in Hiranagar Assembly segment of Kathua district near here, Dr Jitendra Singh said that Vajpayee was for total integration of Kashmir with India.
“The former PM had never made any compromise on national unity and integrity and when the autonomy resolution was passed by JK Assembly during Dr Farooq Abdullah led NC Government in the State, Vajpayee without losing any time rejected it and threw it in the dustbin,” he recalled.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that Kashmir centric leadership of NC and PDP make sarcastic remarks on BJP to follow Vajpayee formula without understanding him and his formula.
“Is it possible that the person who fought for his whole life for total integration of J&K with India and was asked by his leader and then Jana Sangh president, Dr Shama Prasad Mookherjee whom he accompanied in 1953 Praja Parishad agitation to Kashmir that go and tell the country that he has entered Kashmir after breaking permit system and was jailed, could make any compromise on Kashmir. “Those words of Dr Mookherjee became a Mantra for Atal Ji and for his entire life, he worked for the total integration of the State with rest of the country”, the Union Minister added.
He said Vajpayee was a towering leader and he tried to take everyone along. His slogan of Kashmiriyat, Jamhooriyat and Insaniyat were in consonance with Indian Constitution and not for any compromise. He said those who are talking of Vajpayee formula are disrespecting him as he is not alive to correct the same. This way a wrong impression is being deliberately created among the masses on Vajpayee formula, he added.
Dr Jitendra Singh said late Prime Minister was also committed to only formula on Kashmir that is the joint Indian Parliament resolution of 1994 which stated that PoK is an integral part of India and it was annexed by Pakistan forcibly. “India will not rest till integrating the same with the country and BJP as well as entire nation is committed to this resolution”, he added.
Lashing out at Congress, the Union Minister also accused its leaders of misguiding the people of the State and country on various issues. He said the party which was part of coalitions in 2004 to 2008 and 2008 to 2014 in the State failed to empower the Panchayats and implementing the 73rd and 74th Constitutional amendments in the State, despite the fact that the law was brought in the country by Rajiv Gandhi led Government.
He said after sharing two coalitions in the State, Congress Ministers maintained a stoic silence on the implementation of the Constitutional amendments to empower Panchayats and Local Bodies. “It was the Narendra Modi Government which took a decision in this regard. The Panchayats in the State will get Rs 6000 crore for development works and ULBs will get Rs 4000 to 5000 crore for this purpose,” he added.
He mocked the Congress leaders for misguiding the people of J&K that no development took place in the State during last four and half years.
He said it was the BJP led Modi Government which took decision to construct the toilet complexes in border areas of Hiranagar in Kathua and also bunkers for the people so that they can take refuge during border skirmishes there.
He said the reservation was being given to IB people at par with people of LoC and order in this regard will be issued within week.
Regarding the construction of a community hall in the village, he said efforts will be made to make the money available for the same and the issue of dispensary will be taken up with State Government on priority.

He said the formal inauguration will be made later but the people of the area should not be made to suffer pending formal inauguration.
