Vaishno Devi shrine receives snowfall

JAMMU, Nov 9: Holy cave shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi ji received light snowfall yesterday but the pilgrimage continued uninterruptedly with nearly 25,000 yatris visiting the cave shrine today to have darshan of Goddess Vaishno Devi.
Reports said the Trikuta Hills surrounding Mata Vaishno Devi shrine had mild snowfall yesterday, the first snowfall of this winter season.
However, the shrine areas experienced bright sunshine today and the snow melted.
“It was a very light snowfall and didn’t sustain too long,” reports said, adding that there was no snow on the track but only on the hills surrounding the cave shrine.
Meanwhile, 20,000 to 25,000 pilgrims continued to visit the Bhawan and pay obeisance to the Goddess.
