Vaid inaugurates CCTV Control Room

JAMMU, Apr 1: With a view to improve the security system and ensure effective monitoring of activities of inmates round the clock at District Jail Jammu, as many as 98 CCTV cameras have been installed which include 30 PTZ cameras and 68 Night Vision Cameras. These cameras have been installed at strategic points in and around the District Jail.
While inaugurating CCTV Control Room, Director General of Police, Prisons SP Vaid, said that the Control Room will facilitate effective surveillance and coordination.
He added that the Prisons Department intends to incorporate technology into the Prisons design to improve security and level of control and supervision.
These cameras are in addition to 23 cameras installed earlier. The new cameras are advanced and will help in monitoring activities of inmates even during night hours for better security and safe custody, an official spokesperson said.
