V K Singh appeals people to rise above ‘narrow boundaries’

LUCKNOW, Oct 10:
Minister of State for External Affairs Gen V K Singh today asked people to rise above “narrow boundaries” and work for the betterment of the country.
“Indian culture has never had a narrow outlook towards any society….Religion here has always seen how humanity can be helped and developed,” Singh said at a function organised by a city school here.
“There is a big danger looming…Many societies have narrowed down on the basis of religion …There is a need to understand the enormity of culture and we have to see how we have to rise above narrow boundaries…We have to come out of the boundaries which binds us down,” he said.
“Our culture is that of ‘Vasudhav Kutumbkam’. We want the welfare of the entire world,” he said.
He said that in the age of digitalisation, the world is connected through views and boundaries, and the limitations are slowly coming to an end.
The Union minister said that all the countries and societies have differences of some kind, although things are now changing the world over.
The former Army chief said that in times of crisis when civil establishment fails, army jawans succeed because they work unitedly with full might for the country. (PTI)
