JAMMU, Oct 30: A number of activities were organized in various educational institutions as well as other organizations across Jammu region to celebrate the J&K UT Foundation Day.
The Dean Students Welfare, CLUJ celebrated UT Foundation Day by organizing an Intra-University multifaceted competitions encompassing videography, photography, painting and essay writing based on the theme ‘Badalta Jammu Kashmir, Aman aur Taraqqi ki Nayi Tasveer’. Prof Mohd Zubair (Dean, School of Teacher Education) and Prof Chander Shekhar (Dean, School of Engineering and Computer Technology) were the observers. The event was coordinated by Prof Ashu Manhas, Associate Dean, Prof Javaid Iqbal (Assistant Dean) and Prof Mohd Ashraf (Assistant Dean) under the guidance and supervision of Dr Ranvijay Singh (Dean, Students Welfare, CLUJ).
As a part of UT Foundation Day celebrations, Relief & Rehabilitation Organization organized a number of activities to showcase rich Kashmiri culture and tradition. Today, as per calendar of activities/events organized were Run for Fun all age groups at Jagti and Muthi, cleanliness drive at Head Office, all Migrant Camps, Zonal Offices and Migrant Schools and Run for Fun for wheel chair and specially abled and visually impaired at Jagti Playground. More than 400-500 migrant students, members of NGOs and inmates of the Camp Jagti and Muthi participated with immense enthusiasm and fervor in all activities. Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants) KK Sidha sensitized all the participants regarding positive changes, development progress and transformation that have taken place since the creation of the UT.
To commemorate the Day, Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) Jammu today kick started various events under the patronage of Prof Sameru Sharma (Principal of the College). The events were successfully organized by student volunteers Rakshant Balotra, Sunidhi Sharma, Divyansh Verma, Ishmeet, Sanjeev and Arnav with the support of coordinators of different clubs. The staff members present during the event included Prof Sanjeev Gupta (HoD Civil), Dr Shammi Kumar, Dr Heera Saini, Prof Altaf Ahmad and Atit Sharma.
GDC Ramban organized district level inter-college competition in Essay writing, Photography, Videography and Painting in connection with UT Foundation Day celebrations, under the patronage of Prof Archana Kaul (Principal of the College). Students from GDC Ramban, GDC Gool, GDC Banihal, GDC Ukhral and GDC Batote participated in different categories of competitions. The programme culminated with the concluding remarks presented by the Principal.
To celebrate the Day, GDC Kalakote organized a series of activities including Essay writing competition, Videography competition, Photography and Painting competition under the patronage of Principal of the College Prof (Dr) Seema Arora. The competitions were adjudged by Dr Farooq, Dr Gulam Nabi and Khalida Parveen. During this celebration participants expressed their innovative thoughts and views that were truly reflected in their paintings, videography and photography.
The NSS Unit of GDC Darhal celebrated the UT Foundation Day by organizing a series of programmes including intra-college painting, videography, photography and essay writing competitions under the patronage of Prof Mussaraf Hussain Shah (Principal of the College). The competitions were organized under the supervision of Dr Ahsan Ul Rehman, Dr Mohd Akhlaq, Dr Imtiaz Hussain Shah, Dr Sunil Kumar Mangoch (NSS Programme Officer), Prof Tahir Mahmood Qureshi, Dr Mehwish Bukhari and Dr Mohd Riaz.
Meanwhile, GDC Mahanpur observed Rashtriyan Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. To observe the Day, NSS unit and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan unit of the College under the guidance of Principal Dr Sangeeta Sudan took the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge. Staff and students of the College pledged to dedicate themselves to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation.
