JAMMU, Apr 8: A deputation of J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA), under the leadership of Rajeev Kumar, provincial president, called on Director School Education Jammu Dr Ravi Shankar Sharma in his office chamber and put forth a charter of demands.
USTA demanded implementation of transfer policy transparently and repatriate / transfer on priority all Teachers, Masters, Lecturers, and Head Masters who have completed much more than their tenure in far-flung areas as well as in other districts.
USTA also demanded filling up all vacant posts of Masters, Lecturers, Headmasters, ZEOs, Principals and 4th Class employees by way of DPC at an earliest, adjustment of all the left out newly promoted lecturers in various subjects who are waiting for their adjustments for the last 18 months and accord charge allowance in favour of all newly promoted temporary lecturers and other officers as per previous practice.
Other demands, highlighted in the charter, include; regularise all incharge lecturers, Headmasters and other officers on priority, convert all left out RReTs into teachers grade II and III as per SAC decision, release 1st time bound in favour of undergraduate teacher appointed with effect from January 1992 to 1997, also accord senior teacher grade to trained undergraduate teachers, introduce pre-primary class by providing additional teachers and infrastructure in all schools having primary classes, debar teachers from all types of non-academic duties including BLO and COVID- 19 etc, issue circular for confirmation who have completed two years service, accord instructions to DDOs for completion of service book records of teachers working under their control at the time of retirement or transfer and stop new pension scheme and implement old pension scheme.
The Director of School Education gave patience hearing and discussed demands one-by-one and assured to resolve them in near future.
The delegation comprised of Hari Singh, Yunus Rahi, Roop Chand, Bashir Ahmed, Angad Singh, Ganesh Datt, Anju Saini, Farid Jalal and Gulzar Hussain.
