JAMMU, May 16: United School Teachers’ Association (USTA) has criticized the education authorities for violating the transfer policy in recent transfers of Masters/Lecturers.
The issue came up for discussion during a meeting of the association held here today under the chairmanship of its president, Hari Singh. The members criticized the authorities for making transfers by pick and choose manner.
“It is extremely unfortunate and heartening that the transfer policy adopted under Mufti Mohd Sayeed’s regime has been totally violated in Jammu province in recent transfers of Masters/Lecturers, who have already served outside their parent district”, the members said, adding these Masters/Lecturers have been mindlessly tossed once again to faraway places without keeping in mind their previous tenures.
The association appealed the Education Minister to direct the concerned authorities to reconsider the order by making proper exercise and adopting existing norms in true spirit. The association also urged the authorities to adjust Masters whose DPC was made in Feb 2014 to fill a large number of vacant posts in schools falling in rural areas.
The meeting also appealed to release Senior Teacher grade in favour of trained undergraduate teachers, last five-month’s salary in favour of teachers working under SSA and six months’ salary of newly appointed teachers.
