BSF cop among 2 killed, 3 injured

RAMBAN, May 16: Two persons including a Border Security Force (BSF) cop were killed, while three others received injuries, when the Tavera car they were traveling in, skidded off the road and plunged into Kuthal Tether area of tehsil Banihal on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK05C-6852, was on its way to Jammu from Srinagar, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it landed into 100 feet deep gorge near Kuthtal Tethar, resulting into on the spot death of two persons and injuries to three others.
After getting information, police team, Army personnel and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured person to Emergency Hospital (EH) Banihal, where they were responding to the treatment, when reports last came in.
The bodies of the deceased as Ghulam Nabi (driver), son of Abdul Khaliq Malyar of Watergam, Baramulla district and Constable Babi Rai from Kolkata West Bengal, posted with 11 Battalion BSF were also shifted to EH Banihal.
The injured have been identified as HC Samar Kumar of Chhattisgarh, Constable Lal Babu of Patna and Constable Dev Raj Vishwas of Kolkata, all posted with 11 Battalion BSF at Baramulla.
The deceased and the injured cops were reportedly going on their leave, when their vehicle met with an accident.
A case in this regard has been registered at Banihal police station and investigation started.
