USTA convenes meeting of Lakhanpur Zone teachers

KATHUA, May 14: A meeting of teachers working in Government schools of Lakhanpur Zone was held here today under the chairmanship of Subhash Sharma, Zone Lakhanpur President of United School Teachers Association (USTA).
During the meeting, teachers discussed the problems being faced by them while performing their school duties.
Provincial President USTA Dr Shashi Pal Singh, who was specially invited in the meeting, demanded postings of teachers in accordance with the guidelines of Transfer Policy-2023 on need basis.
District President Vinayak Sharma urged upon the Government to enroll all the NPS teachers under the defined benefit pension scheme (OPS). He also demanded sanctioning of deputations in favour of teachers who had performed duties in various COVID-19 centres for months together.
Others issue highlighted in the meeting include sanctioning of Senior Teacher Scale in favour of under graduate teachers, regularisation of various cadres in School Education Department, improvement in infrastructure of schools, filling up of vacant post of teachers and increase in the educational budget.
Those who participated in the meeting, included Bharat Bhushan, Parbhat Singh, Vijay Gupta, Ashok Kumar, Narinder Sharma, Som Dutt, Ashwani Sharma, Mohan Lal, Mohammad Rafiq, Rajinder Sharma, Dev Raj, Mohan Lal, Malkeet Singh and Tejinder Kumar.
