Use of Doona Pattal

Sir,
Apropos to the article  “Doona Pattal” by Dr Narinder Paul and Dr P S Slathia in DE Magazine Dt 13.04.2014 it is said that villagers invariably used Doona Pattal as utensils on marriage functions and other ceremonies for serving lunch and dinner, but the leaves “Palah” are required only in feeding the heavenly souls (pitter shraad) and Havan Yagya, not at all in lunch and dinner  as stated by the authors “use of Palah bowls and plates for serving lunch and dinner in rural and sub-urban areas.” Leaves of “Mloongad” are used for serving lunch and dinner; Palah is prohibited for the purpose under question, as per Hindu myth.
Yours etc….
