Washington, Jan 19: The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has added 22 countries into its list of high-risk travel category amid rise in Covid-19 cases.
According to CNN, the CDC on Tuesday added atleast one entry from every continent except Antartica in its Level 4 category.
A country is included in the US’ Level 4 travel category when more than 500 cases per 100,000 residents are registered in 28 days. The CDC restricts the US citizens from travelling to these countries.
Of the 22 destinations, the British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean, which was at Level 1 category last week, had the biggest move upward in the list.
As of now, there are now over 100 countries on the CDC’s level four list.
The CDC has also elevated 20 countries to its Level 3 list, which includes Uganda, The Philippines, Kuwait, Jamaica, Costa Rica and Cuba.
