REASI, June 9: An urge to meet her mother drove   a minor girl of seven year to jaws of death as she could not trace way to home and slipped into jungles where she died of starvation.
The tragic incident took place at a remote village under the jurisdiction of Ransoo Police Station. The deceased has been identified as Shamim Bano (7), daughter of Mohd Iqbal of Kolsar, near Poni. Her body was found from forest area near Heri Shema.
The minor girl had gone to the house of   the in-laws of her sister at Sangar. On the evening of June 1, she insisted to go back  home as she was missing her mother.  She was persuaded by the family members that they would take her to home next morning following which she went to sleep.
However, in the midnight, the minor girl left for home alone without telling anyone and slipped into jungles. On not finding her home, the family members started looking for her and on June 2 evening, a report of missing was lodged at Police Post Kotla.
