LUCKNOW, Oct 25:
Uttar Pradesh Government today decided to issue smart card-based driving licences having biometric thumb impression and digital signatures.
The decision to this effect was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav here.
The smart card-based licences would have digital signatures, biometric thumb impression and photograph of the applicants, official sources said here.
The Cabinet also decided to provide subsidy for betel growers under ‘Paan utpadan protsahan yojna’ for 21 districts, they said. (PTI)
