JAMMU, July 8: Apni Trade Union J&K president, Ajaz Kazmi has flayed the Company engaged by the concerned authorities for installing pre-paid meters in Jammu city for sub-letting the work to unskilled workers which has resulted in fire incidents.
“The workers installing pre-paid meters are unskilled and there is no JE to supervise and ensure that the work is done in a professional manner reducing the possibility of damage to public and private properties,” said Kazmi adding that it was unfortunate that fire incidents have happened because of the unprofessional work done by these workers at Gandhi Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Canal Road and Gumat area and the concerned company is not settling the issue with the people in the affected localities.
He demanded compensation for the people whose property got damaged due to blaze and said that penalty should be imposed on to the Company involved.
Kazmi also said that workers engaged by the Company can be seen working without protective gears and helmets.
