‘Unsafe’ Maggi

Sir,
Changed life style of working parents has forced them to look for shortcut ways to ease their lives. Due to their busy schedules, the demand for ready to eat food items gets increased and reflects in the strategy formulation of the companies. The companies contemplate all the time about changing needs, requirements, liking, disliking of the consumer who is the king of marketing mix. Keeping this thing in mind, many private players took initiatives to cater the needs of the consumers. Nestle India Ltd. is one among them which came forward and introduced series of products including maggi. As the time passes, maggi reached in the kitchen of every household. It held its popularity among all people irrespective of their age. It become more attractive as it takes two minutes only for preparation.
Further, the brand endorsements by known celebrities strengthen the belief of people toward product.  But recently, Food Safety Regulators from the State of Uttar Pradesh have claimed that samples of Maggi noodles were found to contain traces of Lead beyond permissible limits and added Monosodium Glutamate .The Maggi noodles samples taken from Uttar Pradesh state of India were tested for the amount of the lead content and it was found to be exceeding human health safety standards. The permissible amount of Lead in any food material is 0.01 ppm while the Maggi noodles samples were contained 17 ppm. The thrust area is to look for the causes behind the negligence of the company regarding usage of banned substance (MSG) in their product to such an extent which has shaken the trust of millions of people. The company need to justify for the slogan used “good food, good life” which sounds inappropriate these days and it is a  matter of serious concern for the company to rebuild the faith for the market in general and the consumer in particular.
Yours etc….
