JAMMU, July 19: A male pedestrian of age about 35 years was killed today after hit by some unknown vehicle in Channi area on city outskirts.
According to a police official, the deceased man is yet to be identified. “However, he appears to be a labourer from outside the State,” said, adding the body has been shifted to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for identification/postmortem.
The official said that the mishap occurred today at about 1:30 AM on Bypass Road at Channi near Army Gate. The deceased labourer was in inebriated condition when accident happened, he further said, adding that a case under relevant section was registered at police station Channi Himmat and investigations started.
