JAMMU, July 19: The dead body of an unknown man of age about 50 years was recovered today from Ranbir canal in Canal Head area.
“Some people spotted the dead body of an unknown man floating in Ranbir Canal near Canal Head today at about 6:30 PM and informed the police,” a police official said. He said that a police party reached the spot, fished out the body from the canal and shifted it to mortuary room of GMC Jammu for identification/postmortem.
The official said that inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC were initiated in this connection at police station Nowabad.
