The decision and order of raising the fare of buses and mini-buses by 19 percent is totally baised and unjust which will badly affect the economy of the common masses travelling daily in these buses and mini-buses. History has repeated yesterday itself where the administration of J&K always succumbed to these private buses and mini-buses as they lack their own transportation system. The decision is anti-people and none from the civil society was taken into confidence before taking this decision. Only transporters were called for meeting which is violation of principle of natural justice. The hike should have been 5 percent at maximum in view of rising rates of petrol and diesel but a sudden and unexpected rise of 19 percent is a huge and heavy burden on common masses and I appeal to LG UT that the hike should be immediately slashed to 5 percent.
