JAMMU, June 1: CPI (M) leader and Legislator Mohd Yousuf Tarigami today said that united struggle was needed to fight against the anti-people and anti-worker policies of UPA Government at the Centre and NC-Congress coalition in the State.
Addressing 11th Divisional Conference of Northern Zone Insurance Employees Association here today, Tarigami who was the chief guest at the open session said that increase in the price of petrol and diesel besides LPG has made the life of people miserable because with this every sector has been affected including essential commodities. The common man has to wear this burden. He stressed that a united struggle was needed to fight against the anti-people and anti-worker policies of the Government.
The Communist leader further said that youth of the State are getting disappointed due to increase in unemployment. It is the duty of the Government to create the avenues of employment for the youth. Tarigami pointed out that Insurance employees have been fighting against the neo-liberal policies of the Government and it should be continued with the joint struggle of the Trade Unions.
A K Bhatnagar, general secretary NZIEA, who was chief guest of the Delegate Session threw light on the recent Budget of the Central Government and alleged that UPA Government was facilitating the capitalist by giving Tax concessions to Corporate houses and low interest rate loans have been given to the capitalists. He exhorted the Insurance employees to launch the struggle against the anti-worker policies of the Government.
Earlier, Comrade Devi Dass in his inaugural address spoke in detail on global economic melt down, imposition of economic measures on the workers and employees including their protests. Delegates and observers from all over the State attended the conference.
