JAMMU, Aug 25: The meeting of the workers of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee was held today under the chairmanship of former Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand, in which many problems of Chhamb/ Khour Assembly Constituency were discussed.
While addressing the meeting of party worker’s at his residence, Tara Chand said unemployment and inflation are all time high in India which has pushed people to the verge of starvation where poor are attempting suicides.
Many burning issues were discussed during the day-long meeting by the Congress workers and unanimously passed a resolution for restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
Former DyCM urged upon the Central government to restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir with job and land security for the locals. He said that J&K has witnessed massive destruction during decade’s long turmoil and rising unemployment is a major concern. He urged upon the government to secure jobs of Jammu and Kashmir for local youth.
Tara Chand referred to the massive hike in the price of petrol and diesel which is highest in last so many years. He said that Modi Govt has earned more than 23 lakh crores in seven years out of tax on petrol and diesel.

Seeking roll back on the price hike, he said the Modi government is charging high excise duty which is 258% higher to UPA in petrol and 820 percent higher in diesel, which is totally unreasonable.
Former Dy CM further said that the youth are fed-up with the emotional slogans. They want employment and good education. For a good future in J&K, the elected Government must be in place. Asking BJP to shun rhetoric and stop playing to the galleries, Tara chand wondered what Jammu got during the past seven years.
