UDHAMPUR, Oct 14: Under mysterious circumstances, a PSA under- trial prisoner was today found dead at Udhampur District Jail.
According to a police spokesman, Sewa Singh (59) son of Gourav Singh, resident of Chalwas, Tehsil Bhagwa District Doda was found unconscious this morning at the jail barrack in Udhampur Jail. Jail staff took him to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors declared him as brought dead.
A Board of Doctors conducted post-mortem of the deceased and the preliminary investigations hint that apparent cause of death was heart attack. However, more details and exact cause of death will be known only after the post-mortem report is received, Police said.
A case has been registered in this connection at Police Station Udhampur and investigation is going on.
