SRINAGAR, Nov 28: Urban Local Bodies United Forum (ULBUF) today strongly condemned alleged assaults on Executive Officer of Municipal Committee Hajin and on Forest Officer (FO) in Pulwama district and staged a protest here.
On the directions of Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) president Abdul Qayoom Wani, scores of ULBUF employees led by its president Manzoor Ahmad Pampori assembled at press enclave and started sloganeering against the “assaults and insults” to government officials.
Speaking to reporters, the ULBUF president Manzoor Pampori said the “repeated assaults” of government officials are “unacceptable”.
Pampori said they have no objection in action against those employees who don’t perform their duties or are corrupt. “But there are legal ways. The assaults and intimidation is not the right way and is not good for democratic society,” he said.
