JAMMU, Feb 2: Three weeks-long UGC Refresher Course in Physics & Electronics, being organized by Academic Staff College, University of Jammu in collaboration with Deptt of Physics & Electronics, commenced today.
JU Vice-Chancellor Prof R D Sharma formally inaugurated the course and said that teachers are the important components of the society and they need to upgrade their knowledge so that they can disseminate the same to the students. Therefore, such courses should not be taken only as eligibility requirement for promotion, he said and added that from time to time teachers should gets themselves evaluated by the students by the way of feedback.
Around 35 college and university teachers are attending the Course.
Prof S K Badyal and Prof Naresh Padha also spoke on the occasion. Earlier, Prof. Vivek Gupta, Head, Dept of Physics & Electronics and the Coordinator of the Course, discussed the need of such courses for the Society.
Prof Rajnikant, Director Academic Staff College, dwelt upon various areas of study within the Physics and Electronics stream that will be covered in three week long course programme.
Sonia, Assistant Professor in Business School conducted proceedings of the inaugural function while Ranjit Kalra, Assistant Director, ASC presented formal vote of thanks.
