JAMMU, Dec 27: A four-week long UGC General Orientation Course, being organized by Academic Staff College, University of Jammu, in collaboration with Department of Library and Information Science, commenced today.
Around 25 college and university teachers are attending the General Orientation Course.
Dr Meenakshi Kilam, Director IQAC, formally inaugurated the course in the presence of staff of the university. She stressed upon the requirement of such courses from time to time.
Prof Sangita Gupta, HoD, Library & Information Science and Course Incharge as well as Prof Rajender Gupta, Director Academic Staff College emphasized the importance of such courses for updating the knowledge of teachers and said that these courses should not be taken only as eligibility requirement for promotion.
Dr Bindu Sharma, Assistant Librarian conducted proceedings of the inaugural function while Ranjit Kalra, Assistant Director, ASC, presented formal vote of thanks.
