UDC visits garbage dumping station, demands its shifting

UDHAMPUR, Aug 3I:  Today, a team of Udhampur Development Council (UDC) visited the spot where Municip-ality Udhampur has made garbage dumping station which is just one km from town.
After visiting the spot, a press conference was held in which Anil Paba president UDC showed concern over the dumping of  garbage from Udhampur town in habitated area. He further said that it is the same spot on the banks of river Tawi where filtration of water takes place and the same water is being supplied to Udhampur town.
Speaking on the occasion, Parvesh Parihar general secretary ,UDC said one cannot pass from National Highway where garbage is being dumped with out covering face due to foul smell and polluted environment. He further said if the garbage dumping site is not shifted at an earliest then that day is not far when there will be epidemic like situation in Town.
Rakesh Padha, in his address said that it is needed to search permanent and scientific solution to get rid of this problem so that clean environment will be maintain in Udhampur town.
At last a joint appeal was made by members of UDC to district administration to shift as soon as possible present dumping of garbage to 40 to 50 km away from town where there is no threat to flora and fauna and help of experts in this matter be taken for other scientific methods to get rid of this problem.
