Srinagar, Nov 2: Police today said two women died after they consumed poison in Kupwara and Anantnag districts of Valley.
A police spokesman said a woman (name withheld), who was a resident of Pringroo village of Kupwara district, consumed some poisonous substance four days ago. “She was shifted to SKIMS Soura here for treatment where she expired. Police have initiated proceedings under section 174 CrPC to ascertain the cause,” the spokesman said.
The spokesman said another woman (name withheld), who was a resident of Chaklipora village of Achabal in Anantnag district, consumed some poisonous substance and was shifted to District Hospital Anantnag for treatment where she breathed her last. “Police have initiated proceedings under Section 174 CrPC to ascertain the cause,” the spokesman added.
