Two theft cases solved, stolen cash recovered

JAMMU, June 5: Chowk Chabutra and Residency Road Police today claimed to have solved one each theft case by arresting three thieves and recovered stolen cash on their disclosure.
A police spokesperson said that on May 1, a written complaint was lodged at Police Post Chowk Chabutra by one person namely Jai Raj Palgotra son of Prithvi Palgotra, resident of Jain Bazar (Baba Lal Ji Gali), pertaining to the theft in his shop at Jain Bazar.
He said accordingly, a case FIR number 51/2022 U/S 457/380 IPC was registered at police station Pacca Danga and investigation started. To crack the case, he said, special teams of Police Post Chowk Chabutra under the supervision of SDPO North Sharad Kalu were constituted.
“The team led by SHO Police Station Pacca Danga Inspector Raghubir Singh assisted by Incharge Police Post Chowk Chabutra Jyoti Choudhary were constituted and with the help of CCTV footages, two notorious thieves namely Sikander Singh alias Shibu (30) son of Balvinder Singh of Resham Ghar Colony Jammu and Mohd Asgar alias Ashu son of Manjoor Ahmed of Chak Rakwal (Udhampur) were arrested,” he added.
The spokesperson said the arrested thieves confessed their involvement in the case and on their disclosure; stolen cash was recovered from their possession. Further investigation of the case was going on, he added.
Meanwhile, a team of Police Post Residency Road led by SHO Police Station City Inspector Rakesh Sharma assisted by Incharge PP Residency SI Sudershan Lal with the help of CCTV footages arrested one notorious thief namely Deepak Kumar son of Manga, resident of House number 30, Kalka Colony (Bahu Fort, Jammu) and on their disclosure, stolen cash of Rs 26000 was recovered from his possession.
The arrest was made in a theft case (at a Bakery Shop located at Tallab Khatikan, Jammu) registered in Police Station City vide FIR number 31/2022 u/s 454,380/IPC on a complainant filed by one person namely Balal Ahmed Dass son of Nazir Ahmed Dass, resident of Heward, Anantnag (at present living in Shahidi Chowk, Jammu).
Further investigation of the case was going on.
