JAMMU, May 16: Two class 11th students were drowned in river Tawi near back side area of Sainik School Nagrota, this afternoon.
As per police sources, two class 11th students identified as Danesh Hans (17), son of Ashok Kumar of Nadore and Vishant Verma (17), son of Deepak Kumar of Dhok Waziran drowned in river Tawi near back side of Sainik School Nagrota, this afternoon.
After getting information, police team led by SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma rushed to the spot and divers were pressed into service to fish out the bodies.
After hectic efforts, police fished out body of Danesh Hans, while body of other could not be traced when reports last came in. The search operation was suspended due to darkness and will be resumed tomorrow.
The body of the fished out youth was shifted to mortuary of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for postmortem, which will be conducted tomorrow.
After completing legal formalities, the body of the deceased would be handed over to legal heirs.
A case in this regard has been registered at Nagrota police station and investigation started.
