JAMMU, Dec 7: The Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj has announced recipients of the prestigious National Panchayat Awards for the appraisal year 2022-23 with no Panchayat from J&K figuring among the awardees while the UT of Ladakh bagged two awards.
Sumoor Gram Panchayat in Panamic block of Ladakh has secured Clean and Green Panchayat Award. Khaltsi Panchayat in Khaltsi block of Ladakh bagged Panchayat with Good Governance Award.

Both these Panchayats of Ladakh stood at Number two among three top Panchayats.
The two Panchayats are among 27 Panchayats across the country to get Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar.
Panchayats from a total of 15 States/UTs figured among the awardees. However, no Panchayat from Jammu and Kashmir got any award.
President Droupadi Murmu will give National Panchayat Awards in New Delhi on December 11.
