Two Pak-backed terror module operatives arrested: Punjab DGP

CHANDIGARH, April 16: In a major breakthrough, Punjab Police on Tuesday solved the Vikas Prabhakar murder case in less than 3 days with the arrest of two operatives of a terror module backed by Pakistan-based terror masterminds, a top officer said on Tuesday.
Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said based on scientific investigation, the assailants identified as Mandeep Kumar alias Mangi and Surinder Kumar alias Rikka have been arrested.
Two 32 bore pistols, 16 live cartridges, an empty used cartridge and a TVS Jupiter scooty used in the crime have been recovered.
He said from preliminary investigations, it has been revealed that this is a terror module, operated and funded by handlers operating from Portugal and other places.
He added that Mandeep Kumar alias Mangi and Surinder Kumar alias Rikka are the foot soldiers of these foreign-based entities who are the operatives of Pak-based terrorist masterminds. Foot soldiers have been recruited through the lure of money. (UNI)
