JAMMU, June 20: A man was found dead today in a hotel in Jammu city while the dead body of another man was recovered from Sarwal area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, some locals informed police post Sarwal that an unidentified man is lying in unconscious condition on ground near Shastri memorial School, Patoli.
“A police team immediately reached the spot and shifted the man to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors,” the official said, adding the deceased man was later identified as Vijay Singh son of Kesar Singh, resident of Shiv Nagar (Jammu).
Meanwhile, another dead body was found this afternoon from a room of Swagat Hotel falling under the jurisdiction of police post Hari Market. The deceased was identified as Pardeep Kumar (28) son of Kewal Krishan, resident of Poonch. The body was shifted to GMCH Jammu for postmortem.
The official said that after postmortem both the bodies were handed over to their legal heirs for last rites while inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC were initiated in this connection by police post Sarwal and police post Hari Market to ascertain the reasons of the death.
