Two killed, one injured in separate road mishaps

JAMMU, July 25: Two persons were killed while one other was injured today in two separate road mishaps in city and its outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, two labourers of AFCONS were hit and seriously injured by an Alto Car at Kalazard on National Highway near Nandini. The mishap occurred this evening about 5.30 pm when the Alto car bearing registration No JK20-7270, which was on its way from Katra to Jammu, hit two labourers, who were crossing road.
In the mishap, both the labourers identified as Manohar Lal (35) son of Paras Ram of Suketaar (Domail) and Krishan Lal son of Sukh Ram of Churta (Jhajjar Kotli) received serious injuries and were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where Manohar Lal was declared as brought dead. The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for conducting postmortem tomorrow.
A case FIR No 79/2015 under Section 279/337 has been registered against the accused car driver who managed to flee from the spot. He has been identified as Pankaaj Biswas, a professor in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University.
A bike-borne man was also injured this afternoon at Rotary Chowk falling under the limits of police post Parade, where he was hit from behind by a bus. The seriously injured man, who was identified as Rajat Kumar (34) son of Thoru Ram, a resident of Bhawani Nagar (Janipur), was rushed to GMCH Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
After conducting postmortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites. A case in this regard has been registered at concerned police station and both the vehicles involved in the accident seized. However, the bus driver managed to flee.
